Hashfame’s Child Safety and Ethical Standards

Note: The minimum age to create, use, or manage an account on the Hashfame app is 18 years.

1. Introduction Hashfame (app/platform) is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and positive online environment for all users. Though it is mandatory for all users or participants of the app to be above the age of 18 years, these Standards are published in the event of any eventuality of involvement of a child under the age of 18 years. These Child Safety and Ethical Standards (Standards) establish the principles and obligations that govern instances which may concern a child in order to ensure a secure and age-appropriate experience, in full compliance with applicable Indian laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
2. Scope and Applicability These standards apply to all users of Hashfame, including registered members, visitors, content creators, service providers, and platform administrators. These standards align with the obligations placed on intermediaries under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, particularly with respect to child protection, content moderation, and data privacy.
3. General User Responsibilities

  • All users must comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations regarding online safety, privacy, and child protection, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
  • Users must respect the privacy and dignity of others while interacting on the platform.
  • Any content that is harmful, abusive, exploitative, or inappropriate for minors is strictly prohibited.
  • Users are responsible for securing their accounts and reporting any security breaches or unauthorized access immediately.
4. Prohibited Content and Activities

  • Child Exploitation & Abuse: Any form of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, or exploitation will result in immediate removal and reporting to law enforcement authorities, in compliance with Section 67B of the IT Act, 2000.
  • Cyberbullying & Harassment: Bullying, stalking, or harassment of any user, especially minors, is strictly prohibited.
  • Inappropriate & Harmful Content: Content that promotes violence, self-harm, substance abuse, or explicit sexual material is not permitted or hate speech directed at minors.
  • Impersonation & Fraud: Users must not impersonate others or create fake profiles to deceive, exploit, or harm minors.
  • Content that glorifies self-harm, eating disorders, or dangerous challenges.
  • Inappropriate advertising targeted at children, including misleading or exploitative ads.
  • Direct solicitation of personal information from minors.
5. Reporting and Enforcement

  • User Reporting System: Users can report violations of these standards or any other inappropriate content through the in-platform reporting mechanism of Hashfame, which is found in the app. The user may flag any content that violates these standards or detail their concern in the manner provided under the reporting mechanism.
  • Review & removal of problematic content: A dedicated team will investigate reports of CSAE violations and take necessary enforcement actions. If the content or actions of a user are reported to be in violation of these Standards, such content shall be removed from the platform upon receipt of actual knowledge. The content / user account may be suspended until a decision is arrived at.
  • Legal Reporting: Any instances of child exploitation will be reported to relevant authorities, including law enforcement and child protection agencies, as required under Rule 3(1)(d) of the Intermediary Guidelines, 2021.
6. Compliance and Policy updates

  • Periodic Review: CSAE standards will be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect evolving best practices and legal requirements.
  • Hashfame regularly updates this policy to align with evolving child safety laws and industry best practices.
  • Users will be notified in case of major policy updates.
  • Continued use of the app implies agreement with these standards.
7. Consequences for Violations

  • Content Removal: Any content violating CSAE standards will be removed immediately.
  • Account Suspension/Banning: Users engaging in harmful activities will face account suspension or permanent bans.
  • Legal Action: Where necessary, violations involving child exploitation or criminal activities will be referred to legal authorities.
